You could have been a contender, or any number of things, but not if Life rolls on without you. If Life leaves you behind, the old woulda-coulda-shoulda mindset can command control over your whole thought process. In fact, sit on the sidelines long enough and you may turn into the second coming of Rip Van Winkle. Dont let that happen to you.
Wouldnt it just have been easier to let your feet hit the floor at 5AM and start your perfect day?
You may tell yourself In my next life, Ill do such-and-such. And while you may reincarnate to enjoy a series of lives on different planes of the Universe, this life youre currently living may be the only one you get to write home about. Dont wait for then
, this is now! Now is all you have to work with. This is your time in a physical body. So dont just lie there, get going.
Did you know that the snooze button was invented over 50 years ago? As a result, this little invention has enabled millions of people to start their day by literally falling back into bed. Hows THAT for progress?
Its fair to say that the snooze button has probably derailed millions of best intentions since it became a standard feature for alarm clocks. Ok, now admit it. Youve done this, too. Maybe youve just renewed your verbal contract with yourself that you will get up promptly at 5AM when your alarm goes off.
When the time comes and you hear that hideous beeping sound, you forget about everything except hitting the snooze button. And I do mean hitting. You roll over again and all is well. Or is it?
Ten minutes later, that awful racket attacks you again, and, this time, you nearly decapitate your radio when you hit Round 2 on the snooze button. You only get one more chance: think of it as 3 strikes and youre out!
Much too soon, Strike 3 arrives. At that fateful moment, you blindly leap out of bed and immediately smash your baby toe on the solid oak bed leg. Your toes still attached, however, and its all you can do to limp to the fridge and grab a bag of frozen peas.
This incident does have the (un)intended effect of releasing you from Gym Duty today. Unfortunately, and youll realize this a few hours later, youve succeeded in breaking your toe. Your quest for a perfectly-toned body must now wait a bit longer. . .
Wouldnt it just have been easier to let your feet hit the floor at 5AM and start your perfect day? There wont ever be a better time to keep the first commitment, this day, and every day. Your mission is to commit to breaking the Snooze/Lose Cycle that has held you back for so long.
Sound difficult? Dont worry; its not!
Just place your alarm clock in a location in your room where you have to get out of bed to turn it off. But no cheating; the clock has to be beyond your arms length. For me, having the clock across the room works wonders. But if youre really incorrigible, put the alarm clock in the next room.
You deserve this chance. Dont say youll have to sleep on it. By taking this first step towards success, you break the Snooze/Lose cycle, and each step springs you forward.
